The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is a Swiss-based international non-governmental organization founded in 1961 that focuses on wilderness preservation and reducing human impact on the environment.

Formerly known as the World Wildlife Fund—a name still used in Canada and the United States—WWF is the world’s largest conservation organization.

It has over 5 million supporters worldwide, operates in more than 100 countries, and supports around 3,000 conservation and environmental projects.

Since 1995, WWF has invested over $1 billion into more than 12,000 conservation initiatives.
