Aer Lingus, Ireland’s flag carrier, is an airline headquartered in Dublin, founded by the Irish Government in 1936.
Its name, an anglicization of the Irish “aerloingeas” meaning “air fleet” reflects its national identity. Privatized between 2006 and 2015, Aer Lingus is now a wholly owned subsidiary of International Airlines Group (IAG), operating a modern fleet with transatlantic and European routes, known for its quality service.
