The Algeria national football team represents Algeria in international men’s football and is governed by the Algerian Football Federation (FAF). Known as Les Fennecs (The Desert Foxes), Algeria is one of the most successful football nations in Africa and the Arab world.

Algeria plays its home matches at the Nelson Mandela Stadium and the Miloud Hadefi Stadium. The national team has qualified for the FIFA World Cup five times: 1982, 1986, 2010, 2014, and 2026.
One of Algeria’s most famous victories came at the 1982 FIFA World Cup when it defeated Germany national football team 2–1, producing one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history. In 2014, Algeria became the first African nation to score four goals in a World Cup match and reached the Round of 16.
The team maintains intense rivalries with Egypt national football team, Morocco national football team, and Tunisia national football team.
