Bon Jovi is an American rock band formed in 1983 in Sayreville, New Jersey. Led by vocalist Jon Bon Jovi, the band’s lineup includes keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, guitarists John Shanks and Phil X, percussionist Everett Bradley, and bassist Hugh McDonald.
Bon Jovi rose to global fame in the 1980s and 1990s with their blend of arena rock and pop hooks. The original lineup changed over time, with bassist Alec John Such departing in 1994 and guitarist and longtime co-songwriter Richie Sambora leaving in 2013. The band remains one of the best-selling rock acts in history, known for hits like “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “You Give Love a Bad Name.”
