The FIA Formula 3 Championship (FIA F3) is an international single-seater racing championship organized by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). Established in 2019, it serves as a key development category for young drivers aiming to progress toward Formula 2 and ultimately Formula One.

The championship was created through the merger of the former GP3 Series and the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. As part of the FIA Global Pathway, FIA F3 provides a structured route for emerging drivers to advance through the highest levels of international motorsport.

Formula 3 races exclusively as a support series to the Formula One World Championship, giving drivers valuable experience on Grand Prix weekends and at many of the world’s most famous racing circuits.

Using standardized cars, engines, and tires, the championship emphasizes driver talent and racecraft while maintaining a cost-controlled environment for teams and competitors.
