Matchbox is a well-known toy brand originally introduced in 1953 by Lesney Products.

The brand takes its name from the small, matchbox-sized packaging used for its early die-cast toy vehicles. Over time, Matchbox expanded beyond miniature cars to include a wide variety of toys such as larger-scale die-cast models, plastic model kits, slot car racing sets, and action figures.

Since 1997, Matchbox has been owned by Mattel, Inc., and remains closely associated with realistic, collectible toy vehicles.
