Netto Marken-Discount, commonly known as Netto (formerly Plus), is a German discount supermarket chain headquartered in MaxhĂĽtte-Haidhof, Bavaria, Germany.
Founded in 1928 by Michael Schels as a food wholesaler, it opened its first retail branch, SuDi (SuperDiscount), in 1971, and developed the Netto discount concept in 1983.
Acquired by the Edeka Group in 2005 and fully owned since 2021 after purchasing Tengelmann’s remaining stake.
