Northern Tool + Equipment, often shortened to Northern Tool, is a leading American manufacturer and retailer of light industrial equipment and DIY supplies.

Founded in 1981 as Northern Hydraulics, the company rebranded to Northern Tool + Equipment and now operates several in-house brands, including NorthStar, Powerhorse, Klutch, Strongway, Ultra-Tow, Roughneck, Gravel Gear, Bannon, and Ironton. These private labels make up a significant portion of its diverse product lineup.

In 2012, Northern Tool expanded its business by acquiring The Golf Warehouse and The Sportsman’s Guide, though both were later sold in August 2021.
