Pat Patriot, often called “Pat the Patriot,” is the official mascot of the New England Patriots, an NFL team based in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Depicted as an American Revolutionary soldier in a tricorne hat and Continental Army uniform, Pat Patriot originally served as the team’s primary logo from 1960 until 1993, when it was replaced by the modern “Flying Elvis” design. Today, the character is still featured on throwback merchandise and occasionally used as an alternate logo. The original illustration was created in 1960 by cartoonist Phil Bissell of the Worcester Telegram – Evening Gazette.
