Íslandspóstur, also known as Iceland Post or simply Pósturinn, is the national postal service of Iceland. Wholly owned by the Icelandic Government, it provides domestic and international mail and parcel services across the country.
The origins of Iceland’s postal service date back to 1776, when a formal mail system was established under Danish rule. The modern organization was formed in 1998 following its separation from the national telecommunications provider. Today, Iceland Post is part of international postal networks, supporting cross-border delivery and logistics.
