The South Korea national football team, officially recognized by FIFA as Korea Republic, represents South Korea in international men’s football and is governed by the Korea Football Association (KFA). The team is one of the most successful and consistent national sides in Asian football history.

South Korea has qualified for the FIFA World Cup eleven times, including ten consecutive appearances since 1986, the longest active streak among Asian nations. The team’s greatest achievement came at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, when it became the first and only Asian team to reach the semi-finals, co-hosting the tournament with Japan.

The national team has also won the AFC Asian Cup twice and has earned multiple medals at the Asian Games. South Korea has produced numerous internationally recognized players, including Son Heung-min, one of the most prominent Asian footballers of the modern era.

Nicknamed the Reds, the team enjoys passionate support from its official fan group, the Red Devils, and remains a leading force in Asian and international football.
