The Uruguay national football team, nicknamed La Celeste (“The Sky Blue“) and Los Charrúas, has represented Uruguay in international men’s football since 1902.

Administered by the Uruguayan Football Association (Asociación Uruguaya de Fútbol, AUF), headquartered in Montevideo, the team is a founding member of CONMEBOL (1916) and joined FIFA in 1923.

Renowned for their historic successes, including two FIFA World Cups (1930, 1950) and 15 Copa América titles, Uruguay remains a formidable force in global football.
