Airfix is a historic British brand known for producing injection-moulded plastic model kits, including aircraft, vehicles, ships, and military figures. Founded in 1939, it became one of the most recognizable names in the scale modeling hobby, with its brand name often used generically to describe plastic model kits in the UK.

The company produced a wide variety of detailed kits aimed at hobbyists and collectors, helping popularize plastic modeling worldwide. In 1986, Airfix was acquired by Humbrol, and following Humbrol’s financial collapse in 2006, the brand ceased operating as an independent manufacturer. Since 2007, Airfix has continued as a brand under Hornby.
