Hornby Hobbies Limited is a British scale model manufacturing company best known for its model railways and hobby products. Its origins date back to 1901 in Liverpool, when founder Frank Hornby patented the Meccano construction system, laying the foundation for one of the most iconic names in model engineering.
In 2007, Hornby acquired Humbrol and its well-known model kit brand Airfix, followed by the addition of die-cast brand Corgi in 2008. Its brand portfolio also includes Scalextric (slot car racing), as well as model railway brands such as Jouef, Lima, Rivarossi, and Electrotren.
