On September 1, 2015, Google unveiled a new logo, marking its first complete font change in 16 years.
The updated wordmark replaced the serif Catull font with a custom, sans-serif typeface called Product Sans, featuring a single-story lowercase ‘g’ instead of the previous double-story design.
The logo adopted a brighter, flatter color palette, removing gradients for a cleaner, modern look. While the 2013 logo lingered briefly on some platforms like Google Play, the 2015 logo fully rolled out across Google’s services soon after, aligning with the company’s rebranding under Alphabet Inc.
