The USL Championship (USLC) is a professional men’s soccer league that operates as the second tier of the United States soccer pyramid.
Managed by the United Soccer League (USL), it serves as the organization’s top men’s competition above USL League One. The league features 24 teams split between Eastern and Western conferences, competing in a spring-to-fall regular season.
The club with the best overall record earns the Players’ Shield, while the top eight teams from each conference move on to the playoffs, which conclude with the USL Championship Final. Teams in the league also participate in the U.S. Open Cup and the USL Cup during the season.
