The World Cube Association (WCA) is a global non-profit organization that governs and organizes competitions for twisty puzzles—mechanical puzzles solved by twisting groups of pieces, the most iconic being the Rubik’s Cube.

Founded in 2004 by Ron van Bruchem of the Netherlands and Tyson Mao of the United States, the WCA has overseen thousands of official competitions worldwide.

Its mission is to promote accessible, enjoyable, and fair puzzle competitions across as many countries as possible. In 2017, the organization formalized its non-profit status in the state of California.
