The Utah Royals are a professional women’s soccer club based in the Salt Lake City area, competing in the National Women’s Soccer League.
First established in 2017 as an expansion team, the Royals debuted in the 2018 season and quickly built a passionate fan base.
The club paused operations in 2020, with player assets transferred to Kansas City, but was revived in 2023 under the ownership of Ryan Smith and David Blitzer, bringing professional women’s soccer back to Utah.
