The Tasmania Jewels are a professional women’s basketball team based in Hobart, Tasmania, set to join the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) in the 2026–27 season.
Tasmania was awarded the league’s ninth license in August 2025 as part of the WNBL’s expansion.
The team name, revealed in December 2025, draws on the symbolism of a “jewel” as a reference to the queen ant—positioning the Jewels as the women’s counterpart to the men’s team, the Tasmania JackJumpers.
